Palletizer Semi-Finished Products

The history of the use and production of wooden pallets for the transfer of goods begins at the beginning of the 20th century in the United States. Initially, pallets were used to transport goods in trains cargoes, from which their dimensions were conjugate with the wagon dimensions. Today, this pallet size is considered standard, although the pallets themselves began to use not only during rail transport automated palletizer.

Production

For the production of pallets today, both automatic and semi-automatic lines are used. Due to the high cost of physical labor and to reduce the load on employees in Europe, automatic lines are most often used.

In Russia, physical labor costs cheaper by automated production, so the situation is not rare when the pallets are collected in the factors and are injected manually. Naturally, the quality of the pallet during manual assembly is much lower than with automatic manufacture.

There are four main ways to manufacture pallets:

First. The simplest and cheap. It is the following technology: a business forest is made from the rounder and is sent for its intended purpose. As a result, 25-30% of waste requiring disposal. And, just, the easiest way is to create a pallet. This is done with hammers and nails, therefore the price of such a wooden pallet is low, but the quality does not meet the requirements of many enterprises.

Second. Manual production with pneumatic tools. With this technology, pallets are also collected manually, but instead of ordinary hammers use pneumatic. This allows you to accelerate production and improve the quality of products. The cost of a wooden pallet made by means of a pneumomolotone is slightly higher than at the first time. Of the minuses, low quality can be noted due to poor compliance and human factor, which can lead to poor quality product assembly, and as a result – damage to the cargo during transportation.

The third. Basically applied in Europe. It is the use of semi-automatic type machines. They act as follows: the machine scores the nails in the boards, which are stacked into the metal cliches. Cliché is filled manually. With the help of semiautomes, high-quality pallets are obtained with all admission to dimensions.
Fourth. The most expensive and high-quality method is a fully automatic production line. Employees are only required to download wooden blanks into the car, and then it processes the pallet at all stages:

  • cutting;
  • pinching;
  • storage;
  • Colding with ribbon or film;
  • Rolling out the finished pallet for loading.

The most productive automatic machine for the production of pallets in Russia makes more than 65,000 pallets monthly. In Europe, such automatic lines are not so much. For example, among 18 industries, recently visited by domestic companies, there was no one, where the automatic line was operating. However, the enterprises effectively worked.

Quality semi-finished products

Source materials for the production of pallets require careful circulation. The boards must be carefully sucked, so shipped in briquettes, in which there is a small space between the boards. If wooden billets will not have access to air and will be wet, then in a week they will put it, which will lead them to disrepair for production.

Coniferous and deciduous wood are used for production. Both rocks quickly fade, which although it does not affect their quality, but deprives the wood of the commodity type. Therefore, it is necessary to protect it from sunlight and rain to storing wood.

Dimensions, strength requirements and to the noticeable pallets applied to multi-turn pallets have their standardization. In particular, in Europe, a standard EUR pallet is used (in the people, referred to as “Europoddon” or “Europallet”), it has dimensions of 800 × 1200 × 144 mm. Former in use, euroallets are divided as out of three varieties:

  • The highest grade – almost unsucked, clean, strong pallets, are used for its intended purpose for no more than three times;
  • first grade – white, strong pallets; absence of cracks; were not repaired;
  • the second grade – may be after repair; the presence of small cracks / chipping; There may be darkening material from time.

Empty pallets can weigh from 15 to 21 kg, most of them them can easily carry a lot of more tons. The design of them is mostly approximately the same: in the manufacture of pallets, elements common for all types are used, regardless of the size. These are “skis” – lower bearing boards; transverse boards – on them fastened, on the surface of which cargo are located; “Cubes” – pieces of timber, giving the possibility of entering the forking of the loading equipment.

In a modern market economy, the movement and storage of goods is an important component of the process of delivering goods from the manufacturer to the consumer. The use of pallets as special platforms to which cargo is fixed in various ways is directly related to ensuring their safety. With the right use of high-quality pallets, damage is reduced to a minimum.
